Brooklyn, New York has a rich beer making tradition that had all but died until Steve Hindy decided to start Brooklyn Brewery in 1986. As a journalist and war correspondent, Steve said that his  greatest inspiration came after meeting american diplomats working in Saudi Arabia, where the Islamic law prohibits alcoholic beverages. This inspired Steve to begin brewing his own beer, and after moving back to the United States, start his company, Brooklyn Brewery.
